August Training Nights Schedule

Type, Number & Recovery etc.

Tuesday 1st

4 Mile moderate run along the promenade. Then 1,200; 800; 400; 200 at increasing speeds with 45 seconds recovery.

Session 2: - Alternative run session, route to be decided on the evening.

Thursday 3rd

MEET AT HIGH TUNSTALL SCHOOL

Track session. 3 x 1Km with 3 minutes recovery then 5 minutes rest. Then 6 x 400 with 45 seconds recovery, 3 minutes rest. Then 2 x 200 with 45 seconds recovery.

Session 2: - Alternative  run session, route to be explained on the evening.

Tuesday 8th

400m Reps around the site of Jackson's Landing. 7 Reps with 60 seconds recovery and 6 Reps with 45 seconds recovery.  6  Reps with same recoveries for group 1b. 

Session 2: - Alternative  run session, route to be explained on the evening.

Thursday 10th

MEET AT ENGLISH MARTYRS 

4 x 2km reps, Valley Drive / Egerton Road / Parklands loop. 3 Reps for group 1b. 

Session 2: - Alternative  run session, route to be explained on the evening.

Tuesday 15th

1K reps around the green on the sea front. 6 for group 1 and 5 for group 1b. 

Session 2: - Alternative  run session, route to be explained on the evening.

 Thursday 17th

MEET AT ENGLISH MARTYRS 

1 Mile reps. Group 1 5 reps and group 1b 4 reps.  This is to be done on Kingsley Avenue, Westbrook Avenue, Vintner Avenue and Waverley Terrace. 

Session 2: - Alternative  run session, route to be explained on the evening.

 Tuesday 22nd

Steady run through the golf course with the 10 mile handicap in mind.

 Thursday 24th

Club 10 Mile handicap, meet at Worsett Lane.  PARKING IN TESCO EXPRESS CAR PARK IS ADVISED.

 Tuesday 29th

Warm up then 2 x 800m at 5k pace. 4 Miles at slightly slower than half marathon pace then 2 x 800m at 5k pace. 3 Miles for group 1B

Session 2: - Alternative  run session, route to be explained on the evening.

Thursday 31st

AWAY DAY MEET AT ROVERS RUGBY CLUB. Hill rep session on Rovers Bank then back to the club house after for a social gathering. 

Session 2: - Alternative  run session, route to be explained on the evening.

All Groups must warm up properly.

Sessions start at 6pm with a warm up.

Tuesday session will be at Seaton Promenade and Thursday session will be from English Martyrs School.  From Tuesday 20th June 2017  we will go back to meeting at the Coronation Drive toilet block car park.


Each session will be split into two manageable groups with coaches and leaders taking their respective groups.

If necessary members racing the same midweek or weekend should seek advice from relevant coach/leader on the night regarding training and number of reps, workload etc.

These sessions are not set in tablets of stone, though it is suggested that all participate in them to some degree, even if the number or the length is reduced. Please attempt to assist each other by participating alongside other members with compatible ability or in similar groups of three’s and four’s.
